This week, we are featuring Brian McGillivray, Facility Director for the Monmouth County Office of the New Jersey Reentry program. The New Jersey Reentry program is a non-profit organization with a social mission to remove all barriers to employment for citizens returning from incarceration. We also discussed how NJ Reentry is still fulfilling that mission during the COVID crisis. An important part of the reentry program is working with clients on family reunification, which helps tremendously during the search for employment, substance abuse help and sober living facilities post release if needed, and promoting positive rehabilitative cultures among these citizens.
