This week’s guest is Anthony Valente, Executive Director for The Partnership For a Drug Free New Jersey and Brad Billhimer, Ocean County Prosecutor. There is a program designed to offer $500 scholarships to medical providers such as doctors, dentists and nurse practitioners to teach them the dangers of prescribing opioids for pain relief in such cases as wisdom tooth removal, knee replacemen, and other medical procedures. High school students can participate in a program called Your Song, Your Voice; Shout Down Drugs New Jersey. It’s a competition where high school students create songs to raise awareness on the dangers of drugs. It takes place on May 12th. For more information, please visit drugfreenj.org.
