The Kiwanis Club of Point Pleasant will host the third annual Pointsgiving on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Community Park in Point Boro from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This free gathering features 45 stations with hands-on service projects and promotional tables from nonprofits.

A drive-up donation drop-off will be available at Susan Lane and Beach Boulevard. Volunteers with wagons will bring donations to stations near the stage.

Other participating locations include Ocean's Harbor House, Fulfill Food Bank, Marty's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary, Soldier On, BookSmiles, Teachers' Closet, JBJ Soul Kitchen, Providence House, Meals on Wheels, Rare Genes Movement, and Dignity Duds and Suds.

The club will pack blessing bags at Station 5. These gallon-sized Ziploc bags hold travel-sized toiletries for local unhoused individuals. A grant from the New Jersey Kiwanis Foundation provided more than $1,000 to buy toiletries.

Station 6 will focus on packing kids' snacks. These bags will be donated to local schools for students who forget to bring a snack or cannot afford one. Having a snack during the school day may help them stay focused on their work, Fischer said.

A kids' clothing swap will run at Station 43. Gently used items can be dropped off or picked up. Anyone can take up to two bags of clothes.

Participants can vote for their favorite station. The winning station will get $100, donated by Maureen Skea of Ward Wrigth Sothebys. Voting ends at 3 p.m. The winner will be announced at 3:30 p.m.

All are welcome on Saturday. The event is not limited to Point Pleasant residents.
