Ocean County Player Scores $3 Million in Mega Millions Through Jackpocket App

A ticket bought through the Jackpocket app in Ocean County struck gold in a recent Mega Millions drawing, turning into a $3 million win by matching five white balls.

A ticket bought through the Jackpocket app struck gold in a recent Mega Millions drawing, turning into a $3 million win by matching five white balls. The win came from an Ocean County player, state lottery officials said.

The winning numbers — 17, 26, 33, 45, and 56 — lined up perfectly, though the Gold Mega Ball 19 stayed out of reach. Thanks to the game's fresh X3 multiplier, what started as a $1 million win shot up to three times that amount.

This marks the second big win in New Jersey since the April 2025 rule shift. Players can now triple their non-jackpot winnings at no extra cost: a change that's making waves across the state.

Just months ago, lightning struck in Bergen County. A player there turned their ticket into a whopping $4 million through the same multiplier system.

Instead of trekking to stores, New Jersey players now tap their phones to buy tickets. The state-approved Jackpocket app puts the lottery right in their hands.

Check those tickets carefully, lottery officials warn. Winners must claim their cash at Trenton headquarters within 365 days of the drawing.

The twice-weekly ritual unfolds every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. The path to the grand prize means nailing all five white balls and that elusive gold Mega Ball, a feat that keeps players coming back for more.
