Work crews have shut down streets across Camden County, affecting traffic in nine towns. The shutdowns stem from PSE&G and Public Works projects that started this morning.
"Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations," said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, according to Camden County officials.
In Camden, crews blocked Market Street's lanes from 2nd to 4th Street until 4 p.m. Workers also set up shifts on Haddon Avenue near Dr. Luther King Jr. Boulevard. These changes run twice daily: first from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., then again from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
Drivers in Gloucester Township can't use some northbound lanes on Little Gloucester Road. The work zone stretches from Blackwood-Clementon Road to College Drive. Over in Gibbsboro, crews blocked Clementon Road East between Haddon Avenue and Lakeview Drive South.
Mt. Ephraim Avenue's access points at Carl Miller Boulevard and Ferry Avenue are now closed. Traffic shifts hit Federal Street while River Avenue stays shut between Federal and Moro Street.
The work affects other areas too. Collingswood's Park Avenue is off-limits from Dill to Ogden Avenue until mid-afternoon. Lindenwold's East Linden Avenue stays closed between Irving Avenue and Emerson Street through 4 p.m.
The county's Public Works team watches over 1,200 miles of roads. They also maintain 50 bridges and several dams. Their Lindenwold site stays staffed around the clock.
