Sea Hear Now Schedule: Announced Set Times
The Sea Hear Now festival on the beach in Asbury Park has released their Sea Hear Now schedule and set times for the 2024 music and arts festival and I’m taking a look at notable artists that I’m interested in. Music festivals are sometimes a long hard affair. Sometimes they have sound and crowd management issues, and SHN hasn’t avoided that. However, it’s a new year and a new festival and it’s good to have a plan in place so you can pace yourself and get the most out of your day.
Sea Hear Now Schedule: Saturday
The real tragedy about the set times for Saturday, September 14th is that the Hives are on at the same time as Grace Potter. Man, that’s a crappy decision to have to make because both these artists are bringing a unique style to the festival. Grace Potter rocks a cool rock/blues vibe and the Hives got that garage rock thing going on.
That being said, I’m in the gates just before 2 for Robert Randolph. I’ll wander a bit toward Guster before figuring out the Potter/Hives dilemma. Right now I have a slight lean towards Grace Potter on the “Sand Stage” partly so I can just mosey down the beach to the “Surf Stage” to catch one of my all-time faves, The Black Crowes at 7 pm.
Kinda shocked that my boys aren’t closing out the gig, but also cool with getting home early on a Saturday night. OK, who am I kidding, I’ll likely be barhopping around Asbury Park after my music cup is full on day one of SHN.
Sea Hear Now Schedule: Sunday
Regrouping for Sunday’s Sea Hear Now and it’s been ages since I’ve heard some good ‘ole fashioned Grateful Dead so I think I’m going to try to arrive for part of the Bertha tribute at 12:45 pm. This will depend on how much bar hopping goes down on the previous night.
If the Dead thing doesn’t quite work out for me, and let’s face it – I really can’t stand patchouli oil – then I’m definitely in the doors by the time Larkin Poe hits the Sand Stage at 2:25 pm. The Lovell sisters are wicked talented. A throwback to my AM radio fan days with Kool and the Gang follows Larkin Poe immediately and I’ll listen to Norah Jones for a bit b/c an ex-girlfriend loved that record and it would be cool to hear those songs again.
As Mrs. Jones wraps up, I’m gonna get myself a spot for Gaslight at 6:25pm because that s#it is gonna be awesome. They’re gonna have so much fun on stage at Sea Hear Now, we’ll definitely get a few songs with you-know-who because Brian Fallon told us on air one morning that he still hasn’t played that Gaslight song with Bruce.
I’ll be there just to see Brian’s smile through that whole experience. Then Bruce starts at 8 pm and wraps up sometime in November..
Now, if I can just get a ticket to the show… Like you can here or here.
