Another local Toms River business is closing its doors. One of the best peanut butter & jelly donuts on the planet was created by owner, John Skulitz, and due to a variety of circumstances, John has to close his wonderful bakery, The Crazy Baker Cafe at 1071 Route 37 in Toms River.

In addition to baked goods, The Crazy Baker offers items for breakfast & lunch such as homemade quiche, chili, sandwiches, and soups.

Good News! You'll Still Be Able To Enjoy Baked Goods From This Toms River Bakery

It’s not a goodbye for the Crazy Baker, it’s so long for now as far as their brick-and-mortar store is concerned.

Their Facebook post reads: “Due to numerous circumstances, The Crazy Baker Café’s brick and mortar location will officially close, effective August 1st."

In the meantime, here’s some information you may want to know: The bakery will have limited operating hours for July. Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 7 am -1 pm. Please call ahead or check our Facebook page prior to arrival as operating hours cannot be guaranteed.

How Can I Get In Touch?

If you need us to be available at a time that fits better with your schedule, give us a call or send a text to 908-763-2379 and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

John goes on to thank the community for their patronage and future support of his new venture.

Throughout July, the Route 37- Bananier Drive location will have minimal inventory. Fresh donuts, muffins, and crumb cake will be available daily. Requests for any other items, even in small quantities should be called in. We’ll do our best to fulfill requests and stock the store accordingly.

John’s post continues to advise customers that he will provide delivery service of his menu’s most requested items along with special request items starting August 2nd. That indicates that John has access to a professional kitchen so he can continue to wow customers with his baked goods and food.

An event and weekly menu will be available by mid-July. Refer to The Crazy Baker Facebook page, or stop in while the store remains open.

John also asks if customers would like an occasional Crazy Baker pop-up at their clubhouse, place of employment, local Farmer’s Market, or Street Fair. Any referrals are appreciated as well as ideas for future retail locations.

You can call the Crazy Baker location at (732) 281-8828 or text (908) 763-2379.

I'm going to miss sitting in that cozy cafe with a hot cup of coffee and one of John's delectable pastries, but I'm happy knowing that his baked goods are just a phone call away.
