Today begins the most venerable golf tournament in North America with the 87th Edition of The Masters at Augusta National in Georgia, and it's also the eve of the much-anticipated release of PGA Tour 2023 from EA Sports.

As someone who grew up playing the game when it was branded as Tiger Woods PGA Tour, I am excited to check out this new version, which marks the first time that August National has been a featured course since 2013.

PGA Tour was supposed to be released to coincide with the 2022 Masters, but unspecified delays pushed the release date to April 7, 2023, just in time for this year's iteration of the tourney.

EA Sports PGA Tour features 28 real-life and 2 fantasy courses including The Old Course at St Andrews Links, Pebble Beach, TPC Sawgrass, and Liberty National in Jersey City. The game includes all the majors, plus LPGA events and athletes, and plenty of your favorite golfers like Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, Scottie Scheffler, Lexi Armstrong, Jordan Spieth, and of course Tiger Woods.

The game officially launches Friday, April 7, but the folks at Gamer Ability have been spending time with it and this week they posted a full round at August National playing as Tony Finau.

This is an excellent chance to check out all the new features and controls in the game, while also enjoying its sheer beauty of it. The courses look gorgeous, the gameplay is great, and the customizable features are extensive.
