Barnes & Noble Picks New Spot For N.J. Store’s Relocation
Barnes & Noble has picked a new landing spot for its store that was set to close. The bookstore opened 28 years ago but instead of turning off the lights forever, its found a new home. The Paramus store has a new location at 765 Route 17 South, NJ Advance Media reports. The new location is about a mile down from 634 Route 17 North. The space where Barnes & Noble will be is currently occupied by Big Lots and formerly housed a Toys ‘R’ Us.
“While we are sad to leave this location, we are excited for our next chapter!” the store shared in a Facebook post Tuesday. “Please follow us and we will see you at the new store’s opening!”
The book retailer previously announced that the store would close earlier this year.
“We wish we could have served the community from this location for many, many more years, but the landlord has chosen not to renew our lease and will be redeveloping the site,” the post read. “It has truly been our honor and privilege to be your bookseller in Paramus for the last 28 years.”
There are 17 Barnes & Noble bookstores in New Jersey and over 600 nationwide.
The existing location is set to close on March 18. An opening date for the new site has yet to be announced.
