The Sea Hear Now festival returns to Asbury Park for another weekend of terrific music, art, and surfing at the Jersey Shore. This has quickly become one of the best, most eclectic weekends on the U.S. summer circuit, and for the first time the lineup has been revealed ahead of the on-sale date.
The show actually moves up a weekend on the calendar to September 16 & 17 this year, and it's a typically excellent diverse lineup.
While most will be familiar with the big names on the bill like Foo Fighters, The Killers, Sheryl Crow, and the Beach Boys, there are plenty of great up and coming acts that will be worth checking out on one of the three stages set up adjacent to Convention Hall.
BABE RAINBOW
Babe Rainbow hail from Australia and they have a '60s style vibe that should fit in nicely on the beach in Asbury Park.
MT. JOY
Mt. Joy makes Los Angeles their home now, but their roots are in nearby Philadelphia. Their latest album came out last summer to critical acclaim. Check out the title track to Orange Blood.
NATHANIEL RATELIFFE & THE NIGHT SWEATS
A little blues, some horns, a touch of funk, and a whole lot of a soul describes Nathaniel Rateliffe and the Night Sweats. Maybe you saw them kill on SNL two years ago, and now you can see them tear it up at Sea Hear Now.
BOB MOSES
Bob Moses is not a dude, but an electronic duo based in Vancouver but originally from New York City. In fact, they took their name from Robert Moses, the urban planner responsible for Central Park among other things. These guys sell out club across the globe, can't wait to see them at Sea Hear Now.
SUNFLOWER BEAN
Sunflower Bean will make the ride down to Asbury Park from Brooklyn where the trio formed a decade ago. I love the vibe of this band, and I can see them making a ton of new fans at SHN in September.
