Last month the members of U2 were honored by the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., along with other luminaries including George Clooney and Roberta Flack. The Kennedy Center Honors are always a lavish affair, and the guests that take the stage to fete the honorees are often a treat.
As U2 sat in their box at the Kennedy Center, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder did a terrific performance of the band’s “One.”
While U2’s music was rightly highlighted, so were the band’s philanthropic endeavors, and weirdly the person who was chosen to shower praise on the band was Kazakhstan’s own Borat. Sacha Baron Cohen took to the stage in character, and proceeded to roast U2, President Biden, and as many other people as he could in the span of three minutes. It was hilarious!
