What Did TJ Bryan Watch On YouTube Yesterday? Saturday Night Live Highlights!
Steve Martin and Martin Short served as co-hosts of Saturday Night Live this past weekend. Obviously expectations are high when you have two comedy giants like them hosting, but overall I feel the show overall fell a little flat. There were some good laughs, don’t get me wrong, but this show felt like a 6 that should have been an 8.
The Science Room sketch featured Martin and Short as two game, but frustrated science teachers attempting to educate two kids (Cecily Strong and Mikey Day) who aren’t exactly the sharpest tools in the shed.
It was fun to see Martin Short bust out some Ed Grimley dance moves as relationship talk show host Minky Carmichael. Heidi Gardner was great as Minky’s boozy sidekick.
As we approach the holidays we got a bloody fun treat with this parody of A Christmas Carol. Any time the SNL special effects crew gets to squirt fake blood everywhere, I am totally in.
My final highlight of this week’s show is another digital film from the boys in Please Don’t Destroy. John gets back together with his ex, Chelsea (Sarah Sherman), but his friends aren’t happy. Sarah’s dad even makes a cameo!
The final live show of the year for SNL will be this weekend featuring host Austin Butler (Elvis) and musical guest Lizzo.
