What Did TJ Bryan Watch On YouTube Yesterday? A Great Interview With The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir
What a long, strange trip it has been for Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir. He announced recently that next summer would be the final tour for the current iteration of the band, Dead & Company.
This past weekend CBS Sunday Morning aired a wonderful piece on Weir from correspondent John Blackstone. It was a fascinating interview with a man who has been a working, touring musician since he was a teenager. Weir, now 75, discussed touring, the dynamic with late Dead co-founder Jerry Garcia, songwriting, and altering the DNA of his jam band roots for a special performance with the National Symphony Orchestra.
Dead and Company will play their final shows next summer, including stops at Citizen’s Bank Ballpark in Philadelphia (June 15), and CitiField in Queens (June 21 & 22).
