Ocean County Airport Rehabilitation Project Worth More Than $3.5 Million
The Ocean County airport will have more than $3.5 million worth of improvements completed by early fall following a four-phase rehabilitation project.
Construction for the project had began in late June and includes repaving and repairs to more than 95,000 square yards of the airport which is located in Bayville.
“The total cost of the apron rehabilitation project is $3,514,399, of which $3,497,732 is funded by the Federal Aviation Administration,” Ocean County Commissioner Joseph H. Vicari said in a press release. “The county’s contribution is $16,667.”
Since 1991, nearly $30 million in funding from either the Federal Aviation Administration or the New Jersey Department of Transportation have ensured the airport remains a state-of-the-art facility.
