Officials have confirmed an explosion in downtown Asbury Park which occurred on Thursday morning (March 25).
It has been reported that the JCP&L crews are investigating a problem after two manholes exploded. The explosion shook the area right before 9a.m. and multiple streets have since been evacuated.
According to News12NJ, “There are currently 200 customers without power as a result. Crews are working to get them back in service as soon as possible.”
Police encourage people to avoid the area until further notice.
