A spokesperson for Diamond confirmed the heartbreaking news to his Facebook account as well as the TODAY Show earlier this week.
The 44-year-old has since been hospitalized in Florida with stage 4 cancer.
"I connected with Dustin earlier this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he'll overcome this. Praying for him and his family and for a speedy recovery," Lopez shared to Twitter.
In addition, Diamond's team posted a mailing address for fans to send cards and letters to the former Saved By The Bell star.
