A baby was delivered in Sea isle City for the first time since 1977 on January 27. First responders were dispatched to a call at the home of Jeanne Golato who was experiencing contractions at the time.

When local EMTs Kris Lynch and D.J. Fancher arrived on-site, Golato was in labor and the baby was coming out feet first. It was reported by The Press of Atlantic City that Luciana Golato was born at 3:52 pm -- 10 minutes after the initial 911 call.

"Just an amazing job by the EMTs, the officers that were there, the dispatchers, mom and dad being as calm as you could be in such a situation," Police Chief Thomas McQuillen told The Press of Atlantic City. "We're just really proud and happy for everybody. We all can hear about the bad things that happen but this was truly a miracle that happened."

The family attended a city council meeting on Tuesday, February 11 where Luciana's 3-year-old sister accepted a key to the city from the mayor. First responders Lynch, Fancher, among others were also recognized and each accepted lapel pins.
