Fred Durst’s Film Starring John Travolta Tanks Big Time at the Box Office
The Fanatic, the film written and directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst and starring John Travolta, received the opposite of a fan-following in its opening week at the box office.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the film grossed $3,153 in its opening weekend at 52 theaters in the United States marking a career-worst opening for Travolta that makes the gross for Battlefield Earth look like an Avengers movie. Meanwhile, the 18% score on Rotten Tomatoes is enough to potentially demote Travolta down to OT IV in the Church of Scientology. (Just kidding.)
This is the latest bomb for Travolta, whose last hit movie came with providing the voice of Bolt in the 2008 Walt Disney animated film Bolt.
