Stafford May Have Had Highest Rainfall In US On Saturday
According to a post on the Stafford Township Facebook page, 100.1 WJRZ’s “home base” of Stafford may have gotten the highest rainfall in the nation Saturday, July 6th. The Township recorded 5.7 inches of rainfall from the storm.
From the Stafford FB post: On Saturday 7/6/2019, Stafford Township recorded 5.7 inches of total precipitation, which was reportedly the highest in the United States for that day. The Mayor and Council were on the scene after the rain subsided to survey the effects of the deluge. We would like to thank all the staff and organizations involved in helping to keep the public safe. Thanks go out to the Police, Public Works, Water & Sewer Departments and the Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company and the Stafford Township Emergency Medical Services staff for their prompt and effective response.
