Sounds Like There Could Be Some Activity From Van Halen Very Soon
When it comes to Van Halen, things have been awfully quiet the past couple of years, but David Lee Roth may have hinted that that silence will be coming to an end soon.
DLR is in the middle of a press tour to promote Ink The Original, his new tattoo skincare line with tattoo artist Ami James, but he managed to drop some interesting soundbites on potentially big plans for VH.
In an interview with Vulture, Roth dropped the line, “…You know, next time my rock band will be playing the same place that the Yankees play.” When pressed for more details on playing Yankee Stadium, DLR initially said he “can’t say,” but he ended up saying, “Well, I don’t know how far this privacy actually goes. But the band is solvent. And I can say that I contacted colleagues about being part of the show — Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jason Aldean, the Foo Fighters, [Eric] Church, and [Chris] Stapleton. And they all said that, if everything happens, they would certainly be involved.”
When further pressed on whether this show could be a festival, all Roth had to say was, “No, all I talked about was a phone call.”
When exactly we’ll find out the specifics of VH’s upcoming plans are not currently known, but DLR did say those plans were, “…around the corner by a hundred days.” So, take that however you will.
