Gov. Phil Murphy on Tuesday declared a state of emergency as New Jersey braces for a Nor’Easter that could leave up to a foot of snow in parts of New Jersey.
The state of emergency is effective Tuesday at 8pm. A decision on whether state offices will be closed Wednesday will be made later in the day, the Governor said.
Simply put, the declaration means commuters should stay off the roads as not interfere with law enforcement and emergency responders as well as qualifies New Jersey for federal aid in any potential relief efforts.
AccuWeather is expecting the storm to be at its worst Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening/night.
