In an open letter, Wilson wrote, “There are a lot of changes in the works. I am most excited about the recording endeavor we have just begun that has a working title, ‘PDG’ (project dead guys.) It’s a project very dear to me – a collection of songs by artists who have departed in the last several years: Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell to name a few.”
Sadly, Ann has no shortage of music to choose related to musicians who have recently gone to the great gig in the sky. Including the aforementioned artists (and a few others that weren’t listed), here are songs we hope are part of Ann Wilson’s “Project Dead Guys.” Why were the following songs chosen? Because Ann would undoubtedly sing the hell out of them.
Have some different suggestions? Let us know what they are in the comments!
Tom Petty – “Learning To Fly”
David Bowie – “Heroes”
George Michael – “Freedom 90”
Paul Kanter (Jefferson Airplane) – “White Rabbit”
Glenn Frey (The Eagles) – “Desperado”
Prince – “When Doves Cry”
Leonard Cohen – “Hallelujah”
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) – “Burden In My Hand”
