Report: Springsteen’s Broadway Show Extending Run Into Summer 2018
It appears Bruce Springsteen will be spending a little more time on the Great White Way next year.
With his Springsteen On Broadway show doing sell-out business at the Walter Kerr Theatre — to the tune of $2.33 million in ticket sales for just its first week — Variety and other outlets report that Springsteen will be extending the show beyond its current February 3 end date, possibly into June.
There’s been no official confirmation of the extension, however.
Springsteen directed the show himself, an autobiographical piece during which he reads from his memoir, Born To Run, and plays 15 songs on guitar, piano and harmonica, some as duets with his wife and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa.
The show’s $497 average ticket price has broken the previous record of $272 set by Hamilton.
