Disney announced today that they will end their distribution deal with Netflix, a deal only a year+ old, to launch their own streaming service.
Disney and Netflix struck a deal to stream the former's productions in 2012, with the deal becoming official and active as of 2016. Now, just a over a year after beginning to stream on Netflix, Disney will embark on its own paid streaming service and become the exclusive home to stream their films, TV shows and classic library entries when it launches in 2019.
Disney has also announced that they will also launch an ESPN exclusive streaming service with sports content in 2018.
