U2’s ‘Joshua Tree’ Tour Nets Big Bucks
U2‘s Joshua Tree Tour 2017 is the biggest road trip of the year so far.
The group has sold more than 2.4 million tickets in North and South America, Mexico and Europe according to Billboard, with more than a million turning out for the initial North American leg that finished July 1 in Cleveland.
U2 is in Europe until August 1, then resumes back in North America on September 3 in Detroit, with shows in South America through October 22.
The tour has netted more than $62 million in ticket revenues so far. U2 manager Guy Oseary tells Billboard that he and the band are ‘humbled by (the tour’s) incredible success. The album has a deeply meaningful place in so many people’s lives…To honor that is both challenging and a true privilege.”
U2 has previewed one track from its next album, Songs Of Experience, but has not yet announced a release date for the album.
