Airline Honors Freddie Mercury
Want to fly the friendly Freddie Mercury skies? You can do it now, thanks to the Norwegian airline.
The company is putting the late Queen front man’s face on the tails of two of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft this summer to commemorate his 71st birthday on September 5.
It’s part of the airline’s Tail Fin Heroes series, which has also honored author Roald Dahl, aviators Freddie Laker and Amy Johnson, and soccer star Bobby Moore.

In a statement, Norwegian chief commercial officer Thomas Rimdahl says that,
“Freddie Mercury inspired generations of music fans around the globe and it is a huge honour to have one of the greatest singers of all time adorn our aircraft.”
The Tail Fin Heroes campaign is part of Norwegian’s efforts to promote its expansion into the U.K.
Mercury’s band mates Brian May and Roger Taylor are currently on the road in North America with their latest Queen + Adam Lambert tour, which runs through August 5.
