Sting has announced additional North American tour dates, for late summer and fall, promoting his latest album 57th & 9th.
The Police man has announced three shows for the trek so far -- September 1 in Bethel, N.Y., September 2 in Boston and September 3 in Atlantic City -- with more expected to be announced soon. All are at larger venues than the theaters he's been playing lately, and Sting tells us he's looking forward to growing the shows as the tour goes on:
"We're playing smaller venues at first, little theaters for 2,000 seaters, because I think it's always good to start an album that sort of way so it can grow organically. The songs can grow organically, bringing people into an intimate setting rather than starting in an arena or a stadium where the stadium plays you, really."
Sting has also announced new shows in Europe, South America and Asia. He's currently in Europe, playing tonight (March 29) in Stuttgart, Germany.
