Nancy Wilson Announces New Side Project

While Heart's Ann Wilson is working with her solo project the Ann Wilson Thing, sister and guitarist Nancy Wilson has announced her own side project.

Wilson has formed a group called Roadcase Royale, which is streaming a first single, "Get Loud," ahead of an EP of "muscular rock with some R&B/Blues and in depth ballads thrown in," which should be coming soon.

In addition to Wilson the group features Heart veterans Dan Rothchild on bass, Ben Smith on drums and Chris Joyner on keyboards -- along with former Prince singer Live Warfield and guitarist Ryan Waters.

In a statement Wilson says that, "When I came up with the name Roadcase Royale, it was an interesting symbol to me. The big heavy-duty road cases that our amps, drums and guitars travel in are much like the musicians they accompany on the road -- strong and regal looking, yet all scuffed up and dented, covered in funny stickers that tell the story of a crazy traveling circus."

Roadcase Royale made its live debut at the Concert For America: Stand Up, Sing Out! on Friday (January 20). Tour dates are expected to be announced soon.
