Much to every student’s dismay, the end of summer is near! Before the new school year starts, prepare yourself by binging as much TV as you can. Yes, we know this isn't every parent’s ideal scenario, but it needs to be done before you're bombarded with essays.
In order to get in the back-to-school mindset, check out these ten throwbacks after school programs.
1. Bill Nye the Science Guy

Watch the original theme song and opening credits of Doug, as part of Nickelodeon's 25 Years of Animation celebration! Doug was created by Jim Jinkins and premiered on August 11, 1991 as one of the original Nicktoons. It ran on Nickelodeon for 52 episodes before being acquired by Disney and spawning a feature film.
Nickelodeon was in its prime programming when this show was on the air. Who didn’t like to spend their after school moments with Patty Mayonnaise?

Based on a book series originally written on the late 80s. "In a small grade school, one class has a unique way of learning about the world with their teacher, Ms. Frizzle.
Just like Bill Nye, you’re technically learning which watching this cartoon. Not to mention, Ms. Frizzle is the teacher we all dream of having at school.
7. Full House

This show was the ultimate family sitcom. Each episode had a lesson and Uncle Jesse wasn’t bad to look at!
8. Reading Rainbow
Reading Rainbow Intro from 1990. Reading Rainbow was an American half-hour children's television series that aired on PBS Kids from June 6, 1983 to November 10, 2006, with a total of 155 half-hour episodes spanning over 21 seasons. The show encouraged children to read.
LeVar Burton is one of the best television hosts of all time! He make reading exciting and made the show extra fun.
