Much to every student’s dismay, the end of summer is near! Before the new school year starts, prepare yourself by binging as much TV as you can. Yes, we know this isn't every parent’s ideal scenario, but it needs to be done before you're bombarded with essays.

In order to get in the back-to-school mindset, check out these ten throwbacks after school programs.

1. Bill Nye the Science Guy

3. Doug

Doug was created by Jim Jinkins and premiered on August 11, 1991 as one of the original Nicktoons. It ran on Nickelodeon for 52 episodes before being acquired by Disney and spawning a feature film.

Nickelodeon was in its prime programming when this show was on the air. Who didn’t like to spend their after school moments with Patty Mayonnaise?

Just like Bill Nye, you’re technically learning which watching this cartoon. Not to mention, Ms. Frizzle is the teacher we all dream of having at school.

8. Reading Rainbow
