For anyone that was a fan of the popular '80s series Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, they've been counting down the days until the premiere of the Netflix series GLOW, which is based on the behind-the-scenes action of women's wrestling show.
Finally, those fans can rejoice with the release of the series' new trailer.
The series stars Alison Brie, who plays down-and-out actress Ruth Wilder and stumbles upon an audition for a new women’s wrestling show, and also stars Marc Maron and Betty Gilpin. GLOW has quite the staff behind the camera with executive producers Liz Flahive (Homeland, Nurse Jackie), Carly Mensch (Orange is the New Black, Nurse Jackie), Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black, Weeds) and Tara Herrmann (Orange is the New Black) at the helm.
Check out the trailer below! (WARNING: Contains NSFW language.) The series premieres June 23.
Guts, glitter, glory... Are you ready to GLOW? Inspired by the short-lived but beloved show from the 80s, GLOW tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she's thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women's wrestling.
Erica Banas, just like current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, is five feet of fury that shouldn’t be messed with.
