What’s Love Got To Do With It

Few stories in music are quite like Tina Turner’s.  From small town girl to icon, What’s Love Got To Do With It tells the story of Turner’s rise to fame with husband Ike and how she escaped her abusive marriage to embark on an incredible solo career.  Angela Bassett’s performance as Turner is simply the best and garnered her a Best Actress nomination at the 66th Annual Academy Awards.

The Queen of Code

Grace Hopper, unlike the women above, is a name you’re not familiar with.  Thanks to the short The Queen of Code, no one has an excuse for not knowing this revolutionary in computer programming.  As if that weren’t enough, Cooper was also a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, because she’s that awesome.  The Queen of Code is a 16-minute short film that can be viewed in its entirety at Vimeo.com.  (Due to privacy settings, we cannot post it here.)
