Michael Anthony is calming fans down and assuring them he's not rejoining Van Halen after causing a stir with a recent online photo.
A recent photo of Anthony modeling his new Schecter Signature bass -- which debuts As part of next week's National Association of Music Merchandisers (NAMM) convention in California -- showed him posting near a Van Halen tour case, which fans took as a secret message Anthony would be reuniting with the group that unceremoniously kicked him out so Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang could take the bass spot.
Anthony quickly posted a follow-up note on Facebook saying that, "Apparently, because a road case with the name 'Van Halen' on it is in the photo (which was taken by someone off to the side of the shoot), there is speculation of me having involvement with the band. This is not true. The shoot took place in my warehouse and this is just one of the many road cases I still own from the VH days that happened to be there."
Anthony reaffirmed his current membership in The Circle, which also includes Sammy Hagar, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson, which released a live album and DVD during the past year and is now working on an album of new material.
