16 Unconventional Menu Choices For Thanksgiving!

Still trying to determine what to serve at Thanksgiving?  Not into the whole "traditional mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, green bean casserole" type dinner? Well we've got some interesting spins, some new favorites, and some exciting things to share with you in terms of recipes for an Unconventional Menu!

The Meat

Crockpot Ham

For those that are trying to cook something other than Turkey for Thanksgiving, here's a great crockpot ham. This also gives you the opportunity to cook your other items, becuase the ham is taken care of!

Cornish Hens

This one's got a lot of herbs and flavors like garlic, parsley, paprika, chipotle, and lemon, so it's sure not traditional!

Turkey Tenderloin Stuffed With Goat Cheese And Kale

Kale! Goat cheese! What more could you want!?

Potatoes

Parmesan Roasted Potatoes

Because potatoes are a common staple, there's a few ways you can prepare them! This roasted potato recipe is gold.

Bacon Bourbon Whipped Sweet Potatoes

If you like making your sweet potatoes with a different kick, this spin will be sure to tantalize the taste buds.

Yam and Apple Casserole With Citrus Sauce

I found Apple to be an interesting combo when I first read it, but then I remembered how much Yams taste good with a pork chop and apple sauce. The pairing is great!

Veggies

Stuffed Acorn Squash With Quinoa And Pistachios

This honestly just looked absolutely delicious.
Cauliflower, Red Onion, and Chestnut Tart
And fun fact, this one is vegetarian! Cauliflower has been the rage recently with the texture to fool you into not eating as much starch.
Creamed Spinach Gratin
It's.... the.... cheesiest! Like Potatoes Au Gratin, but instead, spinach, to give you that veggie factor. The kids won't be able to deny this one!
Roasted Cauliflower
Another cauliflower one, but totally worth it. This could be an appetizer as well.
Parmesan Ranch Corn
Put a different spin on your corn this time around, and add these spices and cheese.

Hybrids

Frisee Salad With Cranberries and Pistachios
Adding interesting things like fruit and nuts into the salad really do make a different taste evolve in the salad. It also matters what kind of lettuce that you use. If you get something that's not iceberg lettuce, you're going to get way more nutrients!
Sausage Jalepeno Skillet Cornbread
This also just looked very tasty.
Cranberry Almond Salad
This is also so very tasty - cranberries and almonds pair very well together.

Dessert

Crescent Roll Cornucopia

I'm putting this one in desserts even though it could work with multiple foods. Also, genius idea of using the sugar cones to help expand the dough.

Mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes With White Chocolate Pecan Sauce

This will help you not OVER INDULGE.... Unless you eat about five of them.
