Meryl Streep has done it again, this time morphing into a "Full Time Rocker" and "Part Time Mom" in her new movie Ricki and the Flash.
And apparently acting runs in the family! Streep's real-life daughter Mamie Gummer co-stars as Ricki's daughter, according to NME, and Rick Springfield (you know, the guy that sang 'Jessie's Girl') plays a band member.
NME also reported that Meryl is singing and playing guitar on 10 of the songs on the soundtrack, including U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I Was Looking For', Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance', Tom Petty's 'American Girl' and Pink's 'Get The Party Started'. There's also one original song on the movie, 'Cold One', which was co-written by Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice.
Still, Meryl is Meryl, and she shows her acting skills, and the contemporary heartwarming style of pulling together for her family.
